International World Yoga Day 2026

Bhavans Varuna Vidyalaya, organised various programmes to mark International Yoga Day. The event, held under the theme "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," featured renowned yoga practitioner and educationalist Kaithapram Vasudevan Namboothiri as the chief guest.
Interacting with the students, he described yoga as a great Indian tradition that aids in achieving holistic health and equilibrium of body and mind. He further emphasised the importance of yoga in today's fast-paced life, noting its role in fostering not just physical health, but also mental peace, concentration, and self-confidence.
As part of the programme, students delivered an impressive yoga demonstration, performing various asanas with discipline and confidence under the guidance of yoga teacher Mr Arun B. Nair.
The school principal, Smt. Ramadevi K. P., remarked that yoga is instrumental in helping us navigate the pressures and challenges of modern, fast-paced life, as well as in developing self-confidence, self-control, and improved focus in studies.
The event, which was attended by teachers and students, was also attended by the Vice-Principal in-charge, Ms Saritha C. Kumari Veda Arun delivered the welcome address, and Harinarayanan T. R. proposed the vote of thanks.
Following the main celebration, a special yoga training session was organised for the teachers. The "Miracle of Mind" yoga session, conducted under the auspices of the Isha Foundation, was led by yoga instructor Sunita Paliyam Devadas. The session introduced yoga practices and meditation techniques aimed at improving the mental health, concentration, and personal well-being of the teachers.
