With a deep sense of pride and responsibility, I place before this august gathering the Annual Report, which encapsulates the shared endeavours, vibrant activities, and noteworthy accomplishments of Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya during the academic year 2025–2026.
Academic Excellence
“Academic excellence is a journey where curiosity leads, effort sustains, and knowledge empowers.”
In the SSE 2024–2025, 79 students appeared for the examination. An exceptional 77 students secured distinction and a total of 26 students secured A1 in all subjects marking a stellar academic achievement. The School Topper was Pranav Praveen, who scored 497 out of 500 (99.4%). Centum scores were recorded in English, Malayalam, Sanskrit, Science,and Artificial Intelligence. Our school was ranked Fourth by Bhavan’s Shikshan Bharathi among all the Bhavan’s schools across the country.
In the SSCE 2025 examination, a total of 78 students appeared for the examination. Of these, 70 students secured distinction, and 12 students secured A1 in all subjects. Varun Shouri, with 489 out of 500, was adjudged the school topper in the Science stream, while Ann Subash, with 469 out of 500, and Naman Ananthakrishnan, with 474 out of 500 including AI, emerged as toppers in the Commerce stream. 1
Centum scores were recorded in Chemistry, Computer Science, Informatics Practices, Economics and Accountancy. Our school was ranked eighth by Bhavan’s Shikshan Bharathi among all Bhavans schools across the country.
Awards and Commendations
? The school received the P T Thomas MLA Educational Excellence Award 2025 and was honoured by the Asian School of Architecture and Design Innovations for achieving 100% pass in the SSE and SSCE 2025.
? The school won the prestigious KIZAPS Green School Awards 2025.
? Smt. Sheeba George, Biology Teacher was honoured by Lions International District 318 C for her dedicated service and outstanding commitment to education.
? Smt Vidya Mohan, Computer teacher, received the P T Thomas MLA Educational Excellence Award 2025 for the Best Teacher.
? Our teachers Shri Sabu Samuel, and Shri Ranga Achariar N, secured the Third Prize in Abhiruchi 2025- Teachers’ Conclave.
? Smt. Meera M and Smt. Anuja R, faculties, participated in the Thejoganitham competition and secured the third prize.
? Sri Vishnu Das P S, the Taekwondo Trainer, received the following awards:
? Bronze medal In individual pattern and silver medal in group sparring in the 40th National Taekwondo championship 2025.
? He was also awarded the Outstanding Instructor Award 2025.
? In the Interschool Camp held at Vidyodaya School, Ms. Seethal M was recognised as an Adventurer and was part of the Best Teacher’s Team.
? Skandan K S and Sathwik Sarath students of Std VIII brought exceptional pride to the school by representing India at the International Finale and emerged as International Winners; of the Wild Wisdom Global Challenge (WWGC) 2025.
? Our students received the Dr K M Munshi Pratibha Scholarship.
? In the 27th All Kerala Bhavan’s Fest our students delivered outstanding performances across various categories and Reyansh Nair of Std XI was honoured with Bhavan’s Prathibha Award.
Achievements to Cherish in 2025-26
? Our teams secured first and second position in the All India Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan National Level Science Exhibition — Anveshan.

? Vibha Sandeep of Std XII was selected for a one-month internship at Shri Ram College of Commerce, New Delhi under the Samshodhana: Student Research Programme.
? Students of our school secured prizes in various Sanskrit competitions organised by Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth, Chinmaya International Foundation and Chinmaya Mission.
? Our delegates made us proud at AMUN and IIMUN, by securing one Special Mention, multiple Verbal Mentions, High Commendation, and the Best Graphic Designer award.
? In the Nadanirjhari conducted by Vidyodaya School Thevakkal. Ishan Vishnu of Std VIII secured the first prize in Violin.
? At the Krithi Interschool Fest 2025-2026, hosted by Bhavans NewsPrint Vidyalaya, Vellore, our school was declared the Overall Champion.
? Reyansh Renjith of std II brought laurels by emerging victorious in various competitions.
? Nandini M Unni of Std VII received the first prize in the Parade Competition held in connection with the All-India Summer Training Camp held at Southern Naval Command Kochi.
? At the Inter-School Literary Fest organised by Toc H Public School, Pranav Praveen of Std XI won the Second Prize in public speaking, and the school team secured the Second Runners-Up Trophy.
? In the Inter-School Tech Fest organised by Bhavan’s Munshi Vidyashram, our school team emerged as the Overall Champion.
? In the Sugama Hindi Examination, Shrinidhi K A of Std VII has secured 1st rank and Aditi P P of Std X has secured 3rd rank.
? M Nidhi Anand, Pranav S Varma and Gia Mary Jaisen of Std VII were selected for the September 2025 batch of the Sea Cadet Corps, Kochi Unit.
? At the Inter-school competition hosted by Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, the school team won the First Prize in Kathaprasangam and the Third Prize in Yoga with Shloka.
? Aradhya Puthuchery participated in the Young INTACH’s Elephant Day Comic Strip Challenge and earned Special Mention for her creative entry.
? At the Magnum Opus Inter-school Competition the school team secured Second Runners-Up position. 3
? Our students participated in the Zonal Round of Infinitum 2025, the All-India Quiz Competition conducted by NIT Calicut, and the school received the Silver Award.
? Students emerged as winners in the Photography Contest conducted by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Mumbai in connection with Van Mahotsav.
? At the Sahodaya Fest, our students excelled across various categories, securing an impressive array of prizes.
? In the ICCI short video competition, our school team won First Prize for their impactful short film Clicks & Consequences.
? In the quiz competition organized by BIS V S Abhinav and Rishith Awasthi secured the third prize.
? Students secured prizes in competitions conducted by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Poochatti, in connection with Samskrutotsavam.
? At the CBSE Regional Science Exhibition, two of our projects qualified for the National Level Exhibition under the theme “STEM for Viksit and Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
? At the 31st All Kerala Children’s Fest, students won various prizes.
? In the Shastra Children’s Science Congress Niya Rose secured the First Position in Biology and our school emerged as the Top Winning School in Biology.
? In the Young Innovators Programme (YIP) conducted by K-DISC in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha Kerala, two projects from the school were selected at the district level and qualified for the state-level competition.
? Students participated in the Interschool Camp held at Vidyodaya School.
? In the National Youth Day Inter School Competition, Athena Vimal of Std VI got the first prize in the Essay Writing Competition in the UP Section.
? Master Yedhu Dev, of Std IX, has been recognized by the America Book of Records for his exceptional ability in reverse reading.
? Our school’s team Terra5 has been selected as one of the top 125 teams nationwide in the CBSE School Youth Ideathon 2025. They are the only team from Kerala to qualify.They will now compete in the Grand Finale at IIT Delhi.
Sports and Games 4
? In badminton Dharmik Sreekumar, Harshvardhan Brijeesh, and Adeepjith achieved notable successes at the district, state, zonal, CBSE cluster, and national levels.
? In chess, our students secured prizes at inter-school and district levels, and the school achieved the Overall Runners-Up position.
? Rishika N Nath of Std II secured the 3rd position for KATA in the State Level Karate Championship.
? Anjaly P Joshy, the rising sprint star secured 1st place in both 100m and 200m at the CBSE Cluster XI Athletic Meet. She was crowned Individual Champion (Under-19 Girls), earned Second Runners-Up in 100m race at the CBSE National Athletic Meet, and won 1st position in 200m & 2nd position in 100m at the State Central Athletic Meet 2025.
? In the CBSE South Zone Skating Championship 2025, Mirabella Antony of Std IX secured the Silver Medal in the 300 TT event.
? Ishan Nikhil of Std III and Tejaswini Manoj of Std IX, won the Silver Medal at the 21st Ernakulam District Taekwondo Championship
? Arushi S Nair of Std VII secured a Bronze Medal in the 40th National Taekwondo ITF Championship.
? Arnika P Mahesh of Std IV won the first prize in KATA and Maheshwar S Nair of Std V won the second prize in KATA, in the 12th National Karate Championship 2025
? In the District Taekwondo ITF Championship 2025, 39 students participated and won 28 gold, 22 silver, and 26 bronze medals, earning the Winners Trophy.
? Our students won various prizes in the 12th National Okinawan Karate Championship 2025.
? In the Dr. K M Munshi Memorial Athletic Meet Aadith C S secured 1st position in Kiddies Boys High Jump and Thrishan Swaroop secured 2nd position in Kiddies Boys 100m race.
? In the Court Clash Tournament held at BVM Girinagar our school’s Under-19 Girls’ Volleyball team secured the First Runners-up position. Abhinav Babu was adjudged Best Player in Football, John Basil Biju Best Player in Volleyball, and Niveditha Uthaman Promising Player in Volleyball.

Staff Enrichment Programmes
The Staff Enrichment Programme was organised to strengthen professional competencies, update pedagogical practices, and encourage reflective teaching. It provided teachers with opportunities to enhance subject knowledge, adopt innovative methodologies, and align classroom practices with contemporary educational goals.

? The Vice Principal and teachers attended various seminars organised by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and other reputed organisations, as well as capacity-building programmes conducted by the CBSE Centre of Excellence (COE).
Empowering the Young Minds
Our students attended various online and offline enrichment sessions across different grade levels.
? A Puppetry Session for Std I & II was conducted by students of Std XI featuring Kunjunni Kavithakal and fables.
? A lecture on “Introduction to Nanosciences and Molecular Medicine” by Dr. Deepthy Menon, Professor, Amrita Center for Nanosciences and Molecular Medicine, Kochi.
? The launch of the “NO ENTRY” Anti-Drug Campaign.
? An awareness session on alcohol and drug abuse with an Ottanthullal performance was conducted by Shri Jayaraj V, Assistant Excise Inspector, Ernakulam, under the Vimukthi Mission.
? A talk on GST and its basics was conducted by students of Bharat Matha College.
? As part of Ramayana Week celebrations, a talk on Ramayana by Shri P. I. Shankara Narayanan, and a storytelling session “Ramayanam Kadhasaram” by Smt. Sunanda T B were conducted for different classes.
? A talk on “Empowering Young Minds for a Greener Tomorrow” was delivered by Dr. Ram Mohan, Professor, Illinois Wesleyan University. 6
? A Career Meet for AI students conducted by Dr. M. V. Judy, Professor, CUSAT.
? A TYE Orientation Session was conducted by Smt. Aina Raj, Founder and Director, UDAN.
? An online workshop on astrophysics, “From Stardust to Stars”, by Dr. Annapurni Subramaniam, Director, Indian Institute of Astrophysics.
? A virtual session on “Introduction to AI and Robotics” was conducted by Dr. Teena Hassan, Professor, Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, Germany.
? An orientation session was conducted by Career Launcher for Commerce students.
? Students of Std III to V attended a Nadanpattu and drawing session “Varayum Naattu Mozhiyum” by Shri Sathkala Vijayan, folk musician and educator.
? A Mental Health Awareness Session was conducted by Ms. Thara Irine George, mental health professional.
? A session on Financial Literacy and Adolescent Awareness was conducted in collaboration with the District Women and Child Development Department.
? Teachers and students attended the 7th Kulapati Dr K M Munshi Memorial Oration.
Events and Initiatives of Varuna
? The school organised its Merit Day to acknowledge and celebrate the academic achievements of students.
? The school organized a sacred pooja dedicated to the students of Std X and XII and hosted Ashirvachanam, the formal farewell ceremony for the students of Std XII.
? No Bag Day, “Kalivanchi’ was organized for Std I to VIII.
? As part of a social service initiative, the school organised the Neem Tree Donation Drive. The neem saplings were planted at the Municipal Children’s Park, Thrikkakkara.
? On the auspicious day of Vijayadashami, the Vidyarambham Ceremony was held in the school.
? The school underwent Shikshan Bharati Comprehensive Evaluation.
? The Club Activities for the academic year 2025-2026 were inaugurated by Dr Aparna Lakshmanan, Professor Dept of Mathematics CUSAT.
? Fruit-bearing saplings were exchanged and planted as part of the Haritha Keralam Mission’s initiative Changathikkoru Thai under the Oru Thai Nadam campaign and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam (Phase 2) by Eco Club. 7
? The Varuna Reunion was held in the school and was attended by alumni, former teachers, and staff members.
? The Innovation Lab of Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya, established by the Acadavo Group, was inaugurated by Shri E. Ramankutty, Director, BVB Kochi Kendra
? The school conducted Vayana Madhuram, a Children’s Book Exhibition organised by the Book Exhibition Committee, Ernakulam.
? The school hosted the first installation ceremony of its Interact Club, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Cochin Royals.
? Our school hosted the Interschool Fun Athletic Meet in association with EduSports for students of Std I and II.
? Festivals like Onam, Bakrid and Christmas, along with other important occasions, were observed with great enthusiasm.
? The foundation stone of the KG Block was laid by Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary, Department of Defence (R&D) and Chairman, DRDO.
? Staff picnic and educational trips for all the classes were organised.
Community Outreach Programmes
? As part of the ongoing EduMission Varuna campaign, the School Social Service club members visited M A A M Govt.L.P. School, Kakkanad, and distributed school kits to 77 students.
? The school launched the Flora QR Code Initiative at the Municipal Children’s Park near NGO Quarters.
? As part of Naam Onnu, Onam kits were distributed to the members of the Palliative Care Unit of General Hospital, Ernakulam, the supporting staff of our school, students of M A A M Govt.L.P. School, Kakkanad and Ambady Old Age Home North Paravoor.
? In collaboration with Goonj, our school organised a one-day collection drive of usable materials.
? As part of the Love Plastic campaign, a Seed Club initiative, the plastic collected at school, together with the plastic gathered during the Beach Cleaning Drive at Puthuvypu Beach on National Pollution Control Day 2025, was donated to the Haritha Karma Sena, Thrikkakara.
? As part of the school’s Christmas celebrations, the members of the School Social Service Club distributed cakes and other essential provisions to children at M.A. A M Govt.L.P. School, Kakkanad, to the members of the 8
Palliative Care Unit of General Hospital Ernakulam and Ambady Old Age Home North Paravoor.
House and Club Activities
As part of the school’s commitment to holistic development and the nurturing of innate talents, a vibrant array of co-scholastic activities and inter-house competitions was organised during the academic year. Events such as Ramayana Parayanam, quizzes, paper presentations, theme-based painting, and literary competitions provided students with meaningful platforms to showcase their abilities, while fostering creativity, confidence, and a healthy spirit of competition and cooperation.
National Cadet Corps
The 21 Kerala Battalion NCC unit continues to operate effectively in the school. Cadets regularly attend training classes and parades after school hours. A total of 50 cadets are enrolled, of whom 19 participated in the annual training camps. These students will be appearing for the A certificate examination.
Parent Teacher Association
The PTA functions with a clear mission to enhance the learning environment and overall school experience of our students. During the year, it sponsored trophies and certificates for the Prathibhotsavam Annual Merit Day, organised to felicitate the SSE and SSCE toppers. In addition, the PTA honoured the teaching and non-teaching staff on Teachers’ Day by presenting each member with a thoughtful gift. The PTA is also sponsoring the awards for the Annual Day and has planned a PTA Day to promote greater collaboration and engagement within the school community. As part of Children’s Day celebrations, the PTA arranged the distribution of payasam for all students and further added to the festive spirit by organising the distribution of cake pieces during the Christmas celebrations. PTA had organised a badminton Tournament for parents and teachers. A joint parents and teachers cricket team is set up which will be competing in the Inter Bhavan’s PTA Cricket Tournament.
School Library
The school library, a rich repository of knowledge, supports the intellectual development of students and staff through a thoughtfully selected collection of about 11,811 books in English, Sanskrit, Hindi, and Malayalam, covering fiction, non-fiction, and reference works across various subjects. Supplemented by subscriptions to periodicals and newspapers in multiple languages, it ensures ready access to current information. To further encourage this spirit, Reading 9
Week featured an array of programmes and competitions, including a lively storytelling session, and an address on the value of reading.
Resource Room and Counselling
The school’s Support Centre is dedicated to providing essential guidance and meaningful assistance to students with unique learning needs. Staffed by skilled and compassionate special educators who work in close coordination with teachers and parents, the Centre plays a pivotal role in ensuring that every student receives personalised support, enabling them to grow with confidence and thrive throughout their educational journey.
