World Environment Day 2026
World Environment Day was celebrated extensively at Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya under the joint auspices of the school's Environment Club and SEED Club.
The environment day activities at the school were inaugurated by Dr. N.C. Induchoodan, former DFO and environmentalist, by planting saplings. He spoke to the students about their responsibility towards nature and the role of the youth generation in environmental conservation. He also interacted with them on topics such as forest conservation, biodiversity, and the medicinal properties of plants.
School Principal Smt. Remadevi K.P. formally inaugurated the SEED Club by unveiling the SEED Globe. With the objective of creating awareness among students about nature conservation, water resource management, cleanliness, and sustainable development, a programme was held where all students and teachers of the school drafted environmental protection messages. Kumari Ojia K. Frijo of class XII led the Environment Day pledge.
School Vice Principal Smt. Smitha Jayaraj, teachers who are members of the SEED-Environment Club, students, and NCC cadets participated in the event.Kumari Thanmaya Swaroop of class IX welcomed the gathering. Shriya Sandeep of Class VII presented a poem highlighting the importance of protecting the environment and Kumari Meghna Pramod of class IX delivered the vote of thanks.
With the goal of fostering environmental commitment and social responsibility in students, tree saplings were distributed to the parents, teachers and students under the initiative of the SEED Club.
