World Bamboo Day
Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya, Thrikkakara, observed World Bamboo Day in association with the Haritha Keralam Mission under the campaign “Changathikkoru Thai”, a massive sapling planting initiative.
Veda Arun of Std. VIII delivered the address of welcome. A thought-provoking speech on the significance of bamboo was presented by Reivine Tos of Std. VIII.
Renjiny S, District Coordinator of Haritha Keralam Mission, addressed the gathering, highlighting the ecological importance of bamboo in sustainable living and also enriched the gathering with a brief description of the project. Felicitation was offered by Shri Sumith Mohanan, Executive, Social Initiative, Mathrubhumi, Kochi.
The highlight of the occasion was the symbolic exchange of saplings, reaffirming the school’s enduring commitment to environmental stewardship. Smt Smitha Jayaraj,Vice Principal, the teacher representatives as well as the student representatives of Seed Club took the lead of the green crusade. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dhruv V. S. of Standard VIII.
