RAMAYANA WEEK COMMENCES AT BHAVAN’S VARUNA VIDYALAYA, THRIKKAKARA
Celebrating Timeless Values through the Epic Narrative

Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya, Thrikkakara marked the beginning of Ramayana Week celebrations on 17th July 2025, aiming to impart the timeless values and moral teachings embedded in the Ramayana, while fostering a deep appreciation for India’s rich cultural heritage among students.

The week-long observance was formally inaugurated in a solemn ceremony graced by Smt. Usha K, Education Officer, Bhavan’s Shikshan Bharati, Mumbai, along with Principal Smt. Remadevi K. P. and Vice Principal Smt. Smitha Jayaraj. The auspicious occasion commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Master Yadu Dev P. S. of Std IX. This was followed by a soulful Ramayana Parayanam by Kum. Daya Bijibal of Std XI and the recitation of the Saram by Kum. Khadeeja Mehrin of Std IX. Master Niranjan Anand of Std II (English) and Kum. Aradhya Manoj of Std I (Malayalam), first prize winners of the Ramayana Storytelling Competition, enthralled the audience with their engaging narrations. The occasion also featured a melodious rendition of the prize-winning bhajan by the winners of the Ramayana Bhajan Competition ( Ahimsa House).
In her address, the Chief Guest Smt. Usha K delivered an inspiring speech on the enduring relevance of the Ramayana in contemporary times. Through engaging anecdotes and interpretations, she emphasized how the values exemplified by Lord Rama continue to guide individuals in navigating life’s moral dilemmas.

The celebrations also featured an enlightening talk by renowned author Shri P. I. Shankara Narayanan, who provided thought-provoking insights into the philosophical and ethical dimensions of the epic.
