VANAMAHOTSAV
Rooted in Tradition, Growing Towards Tomorrow — Van Mahotsav at Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya
As a crusade to save the mother Earth, Bhavan's Varuna Vidyalaya Thrikkakara celebrated the annual tree planting festival ‘Van Mahotsav’, on 1st July 2025.
As part of the Van Mahotsav celebrations, a landmark afforestation initiative was launched as a collaborative endeavour by the Nature Club and SEED Club of the school, with the noble objective of conserving the rapidly depleting green cover of our nation. The drive was spearheaded by Principal Smt. Remadevi K. P., with commendable support from the Parent-Teacher Association. As a symbolic and impactful gesture, 100 Neem saplings were distributed to student representatives, SEED teacher coordinators, and members of the public, thereby fostering awareness on the ecological and medicinal significance of Neem trees and the imperative need for environmental stewardship.
In the morning assembly,Shri Ibrahim Kutty Ward Councillor Thrikkakara, (ward - 36) and Smt Smitha Jayaraj Vice Principal received a sapling each symbolising growth, harmony and sustainability through green initiatives.
Kum. Shreya Jayesh of Class XI recited a poignant poem in observance of Van Mahotsav, thoughtfully inspiring the students and sensitising them to the vital importance of preserving and nurturing our green cover.
The celebration of this forest festival served as a stepping stone to save the environment, to which we owe a lot.
