Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya Thrikkakara celebrated International Day of Yoga on 21/06/2023, fostering the spirit of the ancient Indian discipline of yoga.
The day marked the physical and spiritual practice of yoga in such a way so as to encourage the participation of students as well as teachers in yoga on a regular basis. This aimed to showcase the transformative power of yoga in fostering global unity and harmonious co-existence, aligning with the theme of 'Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' for this year. Kum M Rithika of Std XI welcomed the gathering.
The Chief Guest Yogi Varghese Vazhoor addressed the students and made them aware of the significance of healthy relationships and mutual understanding among the social beings. He also pointed out the umpteen benefits of practicing yoga and shared his views on the ways of achieving peace, getting rid of anxiety and stress, attaining happiness and wellbeing through yoga.
Sri Arun B Nair, Yoga Instructor administered the Yoga Day pledge.
The students of classes VI- IX & XI displayed scintillating yoga postures against the backdrop of music. Teachers joined hands in the celebration by participating in a yoga session under the supervision of the Yoga Instructor, Sri Arun B Nair. Kum Ardra Nath of Std XI proposed the words of gratitude.
Principal Smt Remadevi K P, Vice Principal Smt Bindu M R and Asst Vice Principal Smt Smitha Jayaraj were present on the occasion.
